Let's see now: "Over the clouds, the freedom must seem endless"? Am I close? Nice picture.

If you mistake a way, then I spot to mean it that do.
:iconbeatminister:
Yep, pretty close. "Over the clouds, the freedom must be borderless" It´s actually a song lyric from a german singer/songwriter, Reinhard May. He was biggest in the 70s and 80s, but is still active now.
Well, I guess I had a art attack today... ;)

Close enough! ;) (It was the word "grenzenlos", in Norwegian we have "grenseløs", which can mean both "without borders" and "endless") Never heard of Reinhard May. But then again, I don't suppose you've ever heard of, say, Åge Alexandersen. ;)

You assume right, I don´t know him. Well, no wonder - what sense would it make to sing to people that cannot understand you, if the lyrics are the main part of it all. May just sits on a chair, plays a guitar and sings along. Not so spectacular if you don´t understand what he sings. But it´s very poetical and kind of intelligent.

Well, it was actually a bad example, as artists who sing in German still have a chance at international stardom (Nena and Rammstein, for instance, of which I like only one ;)), while artists who sing in Norwegian, only get known in Norway. Which is kinda a bum deal, as we have some quite good artists that deserve international recognition. I'll just have to keep working on making Norwegian a world language, I guess. ;)

:iconbeatminister:
Well, Nena was only successful after she made a english version of her song. And Rammstein... the music has a much bigger part than in May´s songs. It might be cool even if you don´t understand the lyrics. As it´s the same with the english songs here - many people don´t understand what they sing, but they listen to it anyway.
Making norwegian a world language... how far did you get with it yet? :)

I just remembered another "famous": Nina Hagen! ;) But you're right, it's mostly about the music, not the text. Though I've had times in my life where the lyrics of a song has come to mean very much to me, mostly when I've just been dumped by a girlfriend. ;) Actually, I'm very fond of instrumental music, such as classsical and new age.

I've pretty much got all of Norway covered so far, going to Sweden this summer to continue my campaign from last year. :D

Nina Hagen... I´m not sure she is german, could be a alien, too. First seen in East-Germany perhaps. :)
Yea, I know that feeling... suddenly the kitsch songs on the radio become all meaningful... ;)

So you convinced the people in Norway to speak norwegian already? Must be some millions - nice work! At least a good start... :D It would be more politically correct to make a new language up, mixed from the different scandinavian languages. That way everybody has to learn it.
I know, it´s a bit late - after you bagged the Norwegians already - but perhaps worth a thought. :D

Hehe, she's a weird one, alright. ;) Read somewhere that she has a daughter named Cosmo Shiva... :| Poor kid!

It'd be a bad idea to mix up all the Scandinavian languages (not that they're that different, Danes, Swedes and Norwegians can understand each other without too much problems...) But Norwegian as already a mix of Danish and Swedish, as we've been ruled by both those countries. Danish was actually the official language of Norway for a while. So no, not a good idea. ;)

:iconbeatminister:
Why - it´s even better. So all you need to do would be to scatter some finnish, icelandic and may be as spice some inuit words in, and there you are. Give it a cool name, like nordmanic or so... :D

Well, Cosma Shiva is a alien, too - at least half-alien. Her mother said the father was a alien.
Whatever they are... Nina has some lose bolts for sure... ;)
